SEO case studies: results you can checkReal projects –real numbers.

These case studies show what SEO delivered in real client projects: online shop revenue tripled, 245% more visitors from Google, four times as many B2B enquiries and an estate agent’s first enquiry after 6 weeks. Each one covers the starting point, what we did and the result – plus what you can take away for your own business.

What results do the case studies show?

In short: SEO brought my clients more revenue, more enquiries and lower ad spend – in e-commerce, in B2B and for local service providers alike.

ClientStarting pointResult
Josef Schulte-Ufer KGonline shop with hardly any organic trafficshop revenue tripled, conversion rate +25%
HostPress GmbHnew customers almost only via expensive Google Ads+245% organic traffic in under 6 months, around €10,000 less ad spend per month
Horst Trommelschläger ObjekteinrichtungenB2B website with few enquiriesfour times as many enquiries per month from organic search
Hansemaklerno enquiries via the website for monthsfirst qualified enquiry after 6 weeks

How were these results achieved?

The projects couldn’t be more different – a long-established online shop, a hosting provider, a wholesaler and an estate agent. The approach was the same every time:

  1. Analysis: Where does the website stand today, what do customers search for, and what are competitors doing better?
  2. Priorities: Quick wins first – measures that work fast with little effort, such as pages that are already close to the top.
  3. Implementation: Improve content, the technical set-up and links – done by my team at SEOeffekt or by the client’s own team.
  4. Measure and refine: Double down on what works, drop what doesn’t.

This roadmap is the core of SEOrocket, SEOeffekt’s SEO programme. Several clients in these case studies started with exactly that.

How can you tell whether SEO is working?

SEO results can be measured. The key tool is Google Search Console, a free tool from Google that shows how often your pages appear in search (impressions) and how often people click on them (clicks). In client projects I typically see three patterns there:

Steady growth in organic traffic

On existing websites, visibility rises steadily when old content is improved and new content is added.

Google Search Console: clicks and impressions rise steadily over the period, with 22,671 clicks and 1.18 million impressions in total

High visibility for new websites

Brand-new websites can also win qualified visitors quickly when SEO is built into the structure and planning from day one.

Google Search Console: impressions for a new website climb from zero to several thousand a day after launch, with 353,101 impressions in total

A sudden jump in traffic

Sometimes targeted on-page changes unlock hidden potential and clicks rise sharply within a few weeks. That’s not the norm – but it happens.

Google Search Console for an online shop: clicks and impressions stay flat for a long time, then rise steeply at the end, with 43,907 clicks in total

What counts in the end

In the end, though, clicks aren’t what counts. Enquiries, orders and revenue are. That’s why every case study shows what actually landed in the business.

What can you take away from the case studies?

  • Start small, learn fast: Quick wins deliver early results and build trust for the bigger steps.
  • Buying-intent keywords first: A ranking that brings no enquiries isn’t a success.
  • SEO doesn’t end at the click: At Schulte-Ufer, a smoother checkout also drove revenue. More on that under conversion optimisation.
  • Build know-how in-house: Almost every client stresses how much they learned themselves. That makes you less dependent on agencies.

Depending on your business model, you’ll find more under e-commerce SEO, B2B SEO and local SEO.

Where can you find more proof?

Case studies show a few projects in depth. These pages give you the wider picture:

By the way, my own German page has ranked on page 1 of Google for “SEO-Experte Hamburg” since 2013, often in first place – how I did it is on my page as an SEO consultant in Hamburg.

Questions about the case studies

Updated on · by Hamed Farhadian

What is an SEO case study?

An SEO case study is a documented client project: the starting point, the measures taken and the measurable result over a given period. It doesn’t show what’s possible in theory – it shows what actually happened in a real business.

How quickly do the first results show?

In these case studies the first measurable effects came within weeks: Hansemakler got its first qualified enquiry after 6 weeks, and Schulte-Ufer saw clicks on key blog posts rise by 900% in 6 weeks. How fast it goes for you depends on your starting point, your competition and your keywords.

Can I expect results like these?

There’s no guarantee – Google decides, and anyone promising fixed rankings isn’t being straight with you. What I can tell you is where the biggest levers are on your website. The free SEO Compass gives you a first impression.

Where do the numbers come from?

Every number belongs to a real client project and is listed with its timeframe in the case study. We measure with data such as Google Search Console, which shows a website’s clicks, impressions and rankings.
